Iracema – José de Alencar
“Iracema, a virgem dos lábios de mel, que tinha os cabelos mais negros que a asa da graúna, e mais longos que seu talhe de palmeira.”
Essa frase é clássica, quando lemos, lembramos dessa índia Iracema.
Ler esse livro depois de tanto tempo me fez ver como pelo menos alguma coisa guardei dele. Li quando fiz vestibular.
O livro retrata o amor de Iracema que é uma índia pelo branco e português Martin, que é inimigo do seu povo.
Isso tudo se passa no início do século XVII, junto com o processo de colonização do Brasil pelos europeus.
O autor narra esse amor verdadeiro recheado de romantismo, mas também retrata muito a guerra dos índios para manter suas terras e sua origem, sobrevivendo a lutas. Fala muito dos costumes do povo indígena, da rica fauna e flora e uma coisa bem interessante é a hierarquia que existe na tribo.
Martin luta contra tudo e contra todos para viver esse amor com Iracema que até certo ponto desafia seu povo e costume para ficar com Martin.
O livro é recheado de palavras difíceis, tem que ter um dicionário junto porque senão fica incompreensível a leitura.
Tem certas horas que ele se torna cansativo demais, mas o final de Iracema e Martin vale a pena e já aviso que é triste. Mas desse amor nasce um fruto marcando definitivamente essa miscigenação.
José de Alencar se consagrou com esse livro e sua linguagem própria.
O livro tem 144 páginas e demorei um pouco para ler, a capa tem muita relação com o tema.
